My Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini takes solid pictures- nothing I would build a photo album from but like my old S2 (RIP) it handles close ups quite well. Macro photography looks quite vivid thanks to depth of field. I got the impression even the colors excel in comparison to the snapshots I take of sceneries and objects in the distance. But maybe I just don´t know how to really handle the camera 🙂

Long story short I love to take close up pictures of objects with my phone when I don´t have a good camera at hand. Two weeks ago I went (kind of) hiking in the Blue Mountains near Kingston/Jamaica and I took some nice pictures of the flora. The details and intricate textures are just so beautiful to me. Hope you enjoy it too.

I reworked an illustration I created in 2011 for a flyer to see my progress since then. I always liked the atmosphere of the original image and I now tried to push it some more in that regard. See the project here.
